Organized by Intangible Cultural Heritage Office, "ICH Mission - I wanna be an ICH Bearer" Series – Mastering the ABCs of the Ten Local ICHs visited Fung Ying Seen Koon on 6th May 2017 to understand the culture of "Quanzhen temples Taoist ritual music". This programme is designed for children aged between 7 and 11, and provides an opportunity for them to have a taste of the theory, demonstration, performance and hands-on experience all related to the ten local items on the National List, and be impressed by the ancient wisdom manifested by festive events, social practices and rituals, performing arts and traditional craftsmanship. More than a dozen participants, are accompanied by their parents, viewed the halls of temple, setting of the altars, ritual instruments, musical instruments and clothing. That contributed to their comprehension on the culture of Daoist beliefs and the inheritance of Taoist ritual music in Fung Ying Seen Koon. The participants also watched the documentary video of Taoist ritual music to learn the basic characteristics of chanting expression and Instrumental performance. A number of participants enthusiastically asked in the Q & A section, showing a strong interest in Hong Kong Quanzhen temples Taoist ritual music.
