Hong Kong Quanzhen Temples Taoist Ritual Music successfully inscribed onto national list of intangible cultural heritage

On 2 December 2014, the State Council announced the fourth national list of intangible cultural heritage. Hong Kong “Quanzhen Temples Taoist Ritual Music” was successfully inscribed onto the extension item list in the “Daoist music” item of “traditional music” category (serial number: 638, item number: II-139). On 11 June 2015, the chairman of Hong Kong Taoist Association, Mr. Leung Tak Wah and the chairman of Fung Ying Seen Koon, Mr. Hung Siu Ling received the commemorative plaque from the hands of the Vice-Minister of Culture, Mr. Wang Tie in the Hong Kong Central Library. That symbolizing the efforts of Fung Ying Seen Koon on the conservation of“Quanzhen Temples Taoist Ritual Music” acquired affirmation and recognition from the state. The inscription of “Quanzhen Temples Taoist Ritual Music” onto the list represents the state and Hong Kong government both pay much attention to the ritual music of Hong Kong Daoist temple. It is a milestone of the Hong Kong Daoist promotion affairs and is worth to celebrate.
